Trying to conceive through assisted means can be overwhelming emotionally, financially, and logistically. There are many excellent specialists you might work with, each offering expertise in their own area. As an infertility doula, I do not replace those specialists but am the one person who will look at the whole picture with you. I understand the medical, legal, and financial systems you need to navigate as well as the emotional ups and downs. Working together, you can feel more prepared, confident, and ready to advocate for yourself.

Infertility Support

"Meghan helped us feel informed, empowered, and never alone.

My partner and I had so many questions around this overwhelming IUI and IVF journey. Meghan guided us and helped us understand the process in a way that felt less overwhelming. We are so grateful for her presence during such an emotional and uncertain time."

Planning for Kids When the Path Isn’t Simple

I offer six months of continuous infertility doula support designed to support as you plan, pursue, and move through fertility treatment. Sustained care offers continuity during a journey that often feels fragmented.

You are not expected to know what you will need in advance — the structure flexes so you can focus on caring for yourself.

Sustained Infertility Doula Support

Infertility Doula Support
If you know that building your family will require outside assistance—such as fertility treatment, a donor, or a surrogate—the hardest part is often figuring out where to begin. The fertility system can feel fragmented, overwhelming, and difficult to navigate without support.

The Planning Support Package is a focused, time-bound offering designed to help you orient yourself and make informed decisions before, or alongside, medical care. Through an in-depth, two-hour private consultation, we’ll talk through your history, priorities, values, and goals. I’ll then translate that conversation into a personalized Next Steps Plan. Rather than spending hours researching, comparing options, or trying to determine what applies to your situation, you’ll receive thoughtful, relevant guidance tailored specifically to you, so you can focus on making decisions that feel right.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the Planning Support Package for?

This offering is for queer folks, single parents by choice, and anyone else who knows they will need outside assistance to build their family through donor conception, surrogacy, or fertility treatments, for whatever reason. A planning support package is especially helpful if you’re early in the process or feeling unsure about where to begin.

What is included in the package?

  • A private, two-hour consultation to explore options and possibilities around your baby-making goals
  • A personalized Next Steps roadmap within one week of our conversation designed to help you move forward with clarity and confidence
  • Referrals to local providers, support groups, and trusted resources tailored to your values, interests, and situation
  • Text or email support between our meeting and plan delivery to clarify details
  • One round of feedback or edits to ensure the plan reflects your needs

How much does this support cost?

The Planning Support offering is a one-time investment of $300.
Infertility rarely follows a straight line, and support should not either. I offer a support package of six months of continuous infertility doula support designed to partner with you as you plan, pursue, and move through fertility treatment. You do not need to repeatedly explain your story, advocate alone, or decide month by month whether support is worth it. For six months, you are supported by someone who knows your journey and adapts alongside you.

Our meetings are shaped by where you are emotionally, medically, and practically at any given moment.
At different times, my role may include:
  • Being a steady presence at medical appointments, offering emotional grounding, note-taking, and help processing information afterward
  • Mentoring you as you explore options and make decisions that align with your values and goals
  • Coaching you through hormone injections, procedures, or conversations where you need to self-advocate with providers
  • Acting as a project manager when the logistics of treatment feel overwhelming and hard to track

During active treatment cycles, we may meet weekly or cluster meetings around procedures. Between cycles or during waiting periods, support often becomes quieter and more reflective. The rhythm is guided by what will be most supportive for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does flexible support throughout the six months really work?

Intensity of support depends on your needs, allowing your investment to reflect the level of support you need at each stage of your journey. All clients receive a comprehensive two-hour fertility intake to understand your history, circumstances, and goals. During quieter times like testing, recover, or waiting periods, clients receive foundational support. Typically, this looks like:
  • Monthly check-in, with additional meetings as needed
  • Appointment attendance when helpful
During active treatment cycles (any cycle with a planned monitored insemination, egg retrieval, or embryo transfer), active treatment support is provided, which typically looks like:
  • Expanded availability by phone, text, and email
  • 4 in-person or virtual meetings, or as desired
  • Prioritized appointment and procedure attendance, including early mornings or weekends as needed
Support is structured this way to allow for flexibility while ensuring continuity of care.

Is support virtual or in person?

Both are available. I am happy to attend provider appointments in person. Private meetings are also offered in person within 45 minutes of Burlington, Vermont and are typically scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Virtual appointments are also available, with flexibility for evenings or weekends as needed, especially during treatment cycles.

How much does a six month package cost?

Total cost of the six-month package depends on the amount of each type of support received. Foundational Support is $200 per month and Active Treatment Support is $1,000 per treatment cycle. Every journey is different. The examples below show common ways support may unfold. Most clients fall somewhere between these scenarios.

  • Example 1: Foundational Support → Active Treatment Support for egg retrieval cycle→ Foundational Support through end of the contract. Investment: $2,000
  • Example 2: Foundational Support → Active Treatment Support for an egg retrieval cycle → Foundational Support during embryo testing → Active Treatment Support for an embryo transfer. Investment: $2,800
  • Example 3: Active Treatment Support for three monitored IUI cycles → Foundational Support through the end of the contract. Investment: $3,600

Why does treatment support cost more?

The treatment cycle support rate reflects significantly increased availability and responsiveness, including real-time support by phone, text, and email; more frequent meetings clustered around procedures; flexibility for last-minute changes; and time spent preparing for and attending appointments. This work happens both inside and outside of scheduled sessions. Quieter months are intentionally priced lower so you are not paying for this level of intensity when you do not need it.

How are payments handled?

How does pregnancy or pregnancy loss fit in?

Support continues regardless of outcome. You will be empowered to decide if you'd like foundational or active treatment support during early pregnancy. Pregnancy loss support is provided with compassion and care as part of foundational support. Increased support following pregnancy loss (including presence at treatments and in home after-care) may be available at no additional cost through the community fund.

Do I need to have medical infertility to receive support? What about queer people or single parents by choice?

You do not need a medical infertility diagnosis to benefit from doula support. Many people I work with have no known fertility issues apart from needing a donor. As a queer mom who explored all paths myself, I love helping clients navigate all the choices! I support those hoping to use known donors as well as bank donors, those considering at-home ICI or IUI inseminations as well as those seeking clinic provided care. I support all avenues for in clinic IUI, IVF, or reverse IVF and help you advocate for the protocol most in line with your body and goals.

Can I receive this support as an egg donor or gestational surrogate?

Absolutely. Doula support is available to individuals acting as egg donors or gestational surrogates. Care may include emotional guidance, help navigating appointments and procedures, and logistical coordination specific to your role. If you only need support for a single treatment cycle rather than the full six-month package, you are welcome to reach out to discuss a focused, one-cycle arrangement. If you are not the patient, but would like to arrange support for a donor or gestational carrier who is working with your family, please reach out to discuss options.

Why isn't a one-month or shorter package generally available?

Infertility support is most effective when it is continuous and adaptable. Shorter packages make it difficult to provide consistent emotional support, prepare for procedures, and respond to the unpredictable nature of fertility treatment. A six-month structure allows for continuity, trust, and responsive care across both treatment and waiting periods.

Can I sign up for another six-month period if needed?

Yes. If your fertility journey extends beyond the initial six months, you are welcome to enroll in an additional six-month package to maintain continuity of care without interruption.
