I am committed to making fertility support accessible, because I believe financial access is a key part of reproductive justice and essential to community-centered doula work. The Green Bottle sliding scale provides suggested considerations for where on a sliding scale a person may fall. Paying higher on the scale supports access for others. I do not ask potential clients to demonstrate proof of their tier. A doula/client relationship is only successful when based on mutual trust and respect.
I have established a community fund to help cover the costs of offering a sliding scale. The community fund also allows me to offset the costs for care to clients who are going through pregnancy loss and stillbirth. I have found that when people are going through these experiences, the last thing they want to think about is how to pay for the support they need while they heal or grieve.
If you are interested in donating to the community fund, please reach out. It is an amazing way to make a difference in the lives of others while supporting community-centered business practices.
